Many western observers/media still (unfairly, in my view) see China as a copy-cat, non-innovator…well, here are 28 “jaw-dropping” Chinese innovations that show that China is leading in many areas of tech and creation.
All of them are so futuristic but real, operational today. I can’t wait to bank with the robot bankers or to be cured by the board-certified robot doctor. Already leading world in solar deployment, China has built the world’s first solar expressway, which helps to melt ice and snow, and I can see the floating solar power plant is used to power many remote islands and places. It can nearly power 100,000 homes at full capacity!
On the drone’s side, while others are talking, eHang has already completed a series of test flights of the world’s first passenger drone in Lianyungang. JD’s even faster, with its delivery drones serving 100 villages in rural China — this really brings e-commerce and prosperity to the outskirts including the poorest of Chinese.
How about the world’s first 3D printed EV? 1st fully electric cargo ship? 1st fully automated dental implant? And of course, on Jan 3rd, 2019, the world’s 1st landing on the far side of moon….

As with any change in life, we can fear is to embrace it. In my view, any person or country that innovates, Chinese, Russian or American, no matter, is positive. With our population growing to 10 billion in 2050, we need all the help we can get to be more efficient, productive, sustainable and all of these innovations, one way or other, contribute to the net benefit of all society.
Innovation help the world, not just one person or nation so keep it up, China!
